Classify the clause before judging the message
A single update can report a number, interpret its meaning and describe a possible future outcome. Giving the entire message one label hides those differences. Begin by copying the exact wording into your own note and marking where one statement ends and another begins.
The three labels used here are a proposed reading method: reported claim, interpretation and conditional scenario. They are not an official scoring system or a test of a provider's honesty. A reported claim still needs evidence. An interpretation may be well supported. A carefully stated condition does not establish how likely its outcome is.
Keep a fourth label, unresolved, for statements that cannot be classified without missing context. If a screenshot cuts off the qualifier or the original link is unavailable, retain that limitation instead of guessing what the author intended.
Work through an invented GBP example
Consider this fictional message: 'The supplied report estimates turnover at £1.2m for period A. I think the pace is improving. If the next comparable report exceeds £1.3m, I will revisit that interpretation.' These are teaching numbers and wording, not a real company's results, an actual forecast or a trading instruction.
The first clause is a claim about what a report estimates. Its evidence would need to identify the report, the period, the unit and the passage containing the estimate. The second clause belongs to the writer. The third sets a proposed future review condition. Neither latter clause becomes a fact simply because it follows a number.
| Exact fragment | Proposed label | What remains to check |
|---|---|---|
| The supplied report estimates turnover at £1.2m for period A | Reported claim about an estimate | Original report, period, unit and wording |
| I think the pace is improving | Interpretation | Writer's reasoning and comparison basis |
| If the next comparable report exceeds £1.3m, I will revisit that interpretation | Conditional review scenario | Meaning of comparable and the later review evidence |
Preserve the UK date and the unit multiplier
For a UK reading note, a string such as 11/12/2026 can be intended as 11 December. Another reader may interpret it as 12 November. Preserve the original string and record the confirmed format before converting it to 2026-12-11. If the publisher's format is unknown, mark the date unresolved; a familiar local convention is not proof of the author's convention.
Likewise, retain the pound sign and the multiplier in £1.2m. Do not silently rewrite it as 1.2 without its unit, or compare it with a number labelled in thousands. The worked message needs the same reporting period and the same meaning of turnover on both sides before its threshold can be assessed.
A precise timestamp can help identify the message you saved, but it does not validate its claims. Keep publication time, your retrieval time and any later edit time separate when the source actually provides them. This article does not create a trusted publication timestamp or an immutable forecast register.
Keep estimate language attached to the number
If the original wording says estimated, provisional or subject to revision, keep that qualifier beside the copied figure. A short summary that drops it can make the message appear more certain than its source. An annotation should expose the distinction rather than make a statistical estimate sound like a final measurement.
The Government Analysis Function's 2018 guidance discusses communicating statistical quality, limitations and uncertainty. The source page currently says it is under review. It supplies background for transparent reporting, not a rule that certifies this worksheet or evaluates a crypto channel.
Finish your note with separate columns for wording, label, source reference and unresolved questions. You can classify the invented message without proving its number true. You cannot conclude that the scenario occurred, that the interpretation predicted a return or that any offer mentioned alongside it is suitable for you.
The optional link below leads to this site's separate crypto signals and Telegram updates landing page. The annotation method is usable without that offer; it does not independently verify the offer, the message author or the evidence entered into your reading note.
